back and such.

Journal Entry: Sun Aug 10, 2008, 9:39 PM
Well, the last day of Kentucky was cool (I will post the pics when I can...) and getting back was mildly eventful.

First we stopped to go to Ollie's, which we did, but we also went to a store called craft 2000 which had really cool stuff. Their moss was $2.50 a bag as opposed to the $9 it costs here for the same stuff. They also had flowers and tons of cool cheap foilage. Needless to say, I stocked up.

Well, after that we were driving in Ohio at say, 1am, and we got pulled over for apparently speeding (we were going 120 km/h which is not fast) and they cop was being a douche and he came and said that mom's licence was suspened. This was odd, seeing as not only did she have her actual licence; she was also not worried much when he stopped us, so it was very, very weird.

SO then... well, he puts her in cuffs and chucks her in the back of the car and tells me to follow them in out car back to the station! I was like "derr wtf..." but yeah. They said we had to pay $375 or else she would have to stay overnight in jail! For a suspended licence??!?! Anyways, she threw a bit of a fit and they let her go but we have to be back in ohio in a few weeks.

It was odd. Damn Ohio. :XD: at least gas is reaaaallly cheap in the states. It's like 3.65, less than a buck a litre! It's like $1.35/ litre here, which translates to $5.10 / gallon....yeah. Stupid gas.

Anyways, we still do not have internet back home so I haven't been on much, nor will I be on much in the next bit. I'm at my friend's now and will be at my dad's later today so will update more stuff. I've been drawing and sculpting a lot with the internet void. I've been doing a lot of racehorses (I can safely say I've had quite a bit of inspiration) but other stuff as well.

I want to put stuff on ebay, but unfortunately I refuse to do so without at home internet, since I can't print the labels out at the library. Gah.

Soooo...hope everyone else is good!

Gah~ that's so messed up!!!!

Hey I was wondering if you could be my etsy shipping mentor ?

I'm working on my etsy account, but I'm afraid of the shipping part. SHIPPING IS SO EXPENSIVE IN CANADA. WTF !?~

So, I thought I might just include the shipping price in the item prices? does that make sense?

if you tell me the weight and dimensions of what you're sending I can use my ebay account and use their calculator and tell you the prices. Or you can make an ebay account and use the calculator, but I'm not sure how it works... or you can take whatever you're sending to the post office and ask them for the prices to send it. In general, if its in an envelope, it shouldn't be too much. for overseas, never send stuff surface since it takes 2 months, and for in the states and canada I use expedited for parcels since its fast and comes with tracking.

if you want to include the shipping price that might be ok, but the thing about that is people will look at it and go "hmmm its expensive" without realizing shipping is included. Also as I said, overseas costs A LOT more than the states, so it gets messed up. It's up to you, but I'd list the shipping price in the description and maybe say what services go along with each price (etsy doesn't specify the actual service or how long it takes, not like ebay)

I hope that helps :D

oh and for the trade, I have a few small fairies on the go. One is a little seahorse (or hippocampus) and the other is a fairy horse, both are in the painting process so I was going to send you one of them. :)

Oh, you're right. I guess my best bet would be to go to the post office and get general price information.

I guess including the price isn't such a good idea for international :/

I don't really feel like opening an ebay account ;/ lol

Ok yay~ I have to make your cake. I was thinking maybe tomorrow?!

So maybe by the end of the week I could send you your cake. Oh I was wondering if you just wanted it to be a cake, or a magnet or what exactly you wanted?

yep, they have pamphlets with prices and such.

if you ever need to use the ebay calculator just ask me and I'll do it for ya :D

yay, cakes are awesome! I'll finish the horsey when I get back home (I'm at my dad's) which should be tonight. We still don't have internet at home so I have lots of free time. Actually, my mom had some money to pay it and got mugged on the way to her car from work o.O

and a cake is great, whatever you make is fine, I like all your stuff :D

My suspicions tell me that this particular cop was on the warpath, thinking that you may have been traffickers of some sort. America is currently paranoid at the moment. Anyhow, I'm sure your moms license checked out, and everything is okay.

I am so happy you got so many great deals on goodies! I'll bet you are 'chomping at the bit' to get even more crafty, and use all that great stuff! :giggle: I look forward to your posts!

I think they thought they xould swindle canadians into giving them money. Most of the time you can always fight tickets, they don't expect immediate payment. In that case, they should have pulled us over on the way THERE haha

and I know! I have so much new stuff on the go... I love it!
