StarKitty by scenceable StarKitty by scenceable
Starkitty is a ooak (one of a kind) lion/tiger character. She was made from polymer clay over wire and foil, and painted in acrylics. She was an art trade with ~starkitty from last year.

Starkitty is about 5 inches from chest to bum, and about 5.5 inches tall to the top of her head. I have not done much in the way of feline anatomy so she took a lot longer than expected, but I got a lot of practice on her and that was the whole point of taking non-equine trades in the first place! I'm quite happy with how she turned out, although I think there is room for improvement. Will have to do more tigers in the future!

I am not taking any trades on at this time, I am still working through the ones I took last year. If I do take on more I will announce it in my journal. :)

If you are interested in following my sculpture work and seeing progress photos feel free to check out my facebook [link] or tumblr [link]

Thanks for looking!

It looks really good for a first (or one of your first) feline sculptures and absolutly love the fur texture, tho about anatomy, you did the head quite well, big cats have quite big heads and have quite muscular features, but the body seems a bit to slender/small, big cats tend to have very muscular long bodies and broad muscular legs (and big paws) [link], in this piece it feels like the head may be a tat to big for it's body (i often have this problem too haha as i lost count of how many times i redid or completely cut off a headXD)
Now lecturing aside, i really cant wait what else you come up with in the future (i really liked fillipe the gruesome one XD) as your one of my big inspirations in the sculpting department :3

Thanks so much Jen! I'm hoping to make another big cat soon and I'll definitely keep that in mind. I saved that photo too! :)
