Traditional Art / Sculpture / Fantasy

Rendition is a ooak (one of a kind) kirin sculpture. She was made from polymer clay over a wire and foil armature.

Rendition was started sometime last June, and I found her in a cupboard and decided to finish her. I haven't done a sculpture that balances off two legs in a long time, so that was fun, and I also tried using enamel paint for the first time on her which worked out well. She was an experiment that actually went nicely, that doesn't happen very often!

She balances off her hooves and pieces of clay that extend under the feathering on her front legs. The way the back legs, head, and back are angled allow her to balance securely.

She is 4 inches long from chest to bum, and about 8 or 9 inches tall from ground to the top of her tail. She has inset resin eyes (brown) and mohair for her mane and tail.

Rendition is going to be for sale at an Art show I'm attending in a week. The show is called Artfest Kingston and is in Kingston, Ontario, June 30, July 1&2.
