Chryssipus by scenceable Chryssipus by scenceable
Chryssipus is a OOAK (One of a kind) unicorn sculpture. He is a light chestnut arabian colt.

Chrys was handmade from polymer clay over wire and foil. He is about 6 inches tall from the bottom of his hoof to the crest of his neck. He has white and purple resin eyes, and gorgeous soft mohair for his mane and tail.

Chryssipus is attached to his base using a peg and rod. A rod extends from the base and inserts into Chrys's leg.

The base was made from polymer clay over foil. It is quite heavy. It has been adorned with fake dark green moss and real reindeer moss. There are also small ferns and flowers. The base includes a small pool of water, which is lined with real pebbles. The water was made using clear resin, and has a very realistic water look!

I had a lot of fun making this sculpture. I have been working on it for a few months and am pleased with how it turned out. I had some issues attaching the peg to the rest of the armature but like how it turned out in the end.

Chryssipus is currently for sale on etsy: [link]

In addition I have a video of Chryssipus here: [link]

Thanks for looking!

Thank you! I spent a lot of time sifting through, combing, and conditioning it, there's a lot of waste but I get the nice bits in the end :XD:

Nice, I'll have to try more of that next time. I just made a custom with alpaca hair, and although it turned out well, it seems that I lost most of it combing it. XD Perhaps next time I'll try making it look better BEFORE putting it on the horse!

do you have photos? I comb hair out before putting it on, I also put the glue on carefully making sure all the roots are covered so they don't fall off. Alpaca hair tends to be thin and wispy which could also be an issue. It takes practice, I've done bunches of them by now :)

I will on my pony account (thatg33kgirl) once my partner in the swap gets her. Its a surprise, so I don't post pics till after just in case! I chose the alpaca because it was so fluffy, and I curled the hair so it turned out pretty good. What do you use to condition the hair?

Very cool! I condition using just leave in conditioner, detangler, or actual conditioner (infusium 23 usually just since it smells so good) and sometimes after the hair is on the actual sculpture I use some cuticle oil or hair oil to keep it styled. Oil isn't good in large amounts though since I think it eats away at things over time. I look forward to seeing your horse :D
