Just one more... I was lucky to get some outdoor photos.
Belltock is a OOAK (one of a kind) fantasy sculpture. He was entirely handmade, from polymer clay over wire and tin foil. He has inset hazel resin eyes, and his hair is hand dyed mohair. He was modelled after a Gypsy Vanner type horse.
He is about 8.5 inches tall from foot to ear tip. With the wings, he goes to about 14 inches to the tip of the wing.
The spine of the wings is sculpted from sculpey superflex. I then glued a sheet of fabric over the spines. Finally, I did several layers of acrylic, polymer glaze, and varnish to give the webbing a leathery finish. The wings are very light and flexible. Also, the wings are set on a brass rod which sits into a peg inserted into the horse's shoulders. So they are easily removed and put back in.
Belltock was a commission from ~BlackCurtains and is not for sale. He was a lot of fun to make. Thanks for looking!
